Mom’s Special Day
Mother’s Day is one of those holidays that has become so commercialized people have really forgotten what is about. One of the best ways to show mom that you really care is to take the time to do something special with her. Flowers are always nice but moms really appreciate the time you spend with them. Make a memory. Give it a try and make her a handmade card! You don’t have to be an artist. Let’s just take the time to make her feel special.
I was really touched to find that my mother-in-law has held onto all the handmade cards I’ve made her over the years in a box. She had ones that I even forgot I made. She is truly a special lady.
The colors for this card were pulled directly from the Succulent Garden designer series paper. The paper is always a good starting point when designing a new card. The colors always look amazing together. This paper is on sale. It was $11.00 NOW $6.60.
Everyday Tags Stamp Set
I am sad that this stamp set is retiring. It has some really great sentiments besides being used with the framelits. The good news though is that they are on sale. The clear mount set was $19.00 and is NOW $14.25.
Making the Card
To make the sentiment the two colors, color the sentiment with the calypso coral marker. The outside border is colored with the old olive marker. Simply huff over the colored stamp a couple times to re-moisten the stamp, and stamp as usual. Cut out the entire image with the 2 inch circle punch. Then sponge with the sweet sugarplum ink around the edges. Cut out a piece of the succulent paper with a 2 1/2 inch punch. Layer the two pieces with dimensionals. I went back and added some sparkle with the wink of stella clear pen on the border.
Make sure you check out all the retiring products used on this card. There are some real bargains. The embellishment pack is also on sale. It was $12.00 and is NOW $8.40.
Supplies are limited on retiring items so get them today before they are gone. Click on any item in my supply list to go directly to my online store.
Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Mother’s Day!
It is always a lot of fun to check out card challenge websites for new great ideas. This whimsical card was created by combining two challenges.
Freshly Made Sketches #270 and Less is More #310 inspired this Ombre Valentine. Here is the sketch that I used for the card. I also used the “Less is More” Colour Challenge of using Ombre shading in the color of your choice. Please visit their blogs to see all the entries for these challenges. Everyone is so creative.
The Ombre effect for this card was created using a Real Red Ink pad and the swirly stamp from the Sealed With Love stamp set. Stamping with full strength ink the first time, I simply kept stamping all the way down five times without reinking the stamp. Then I did the same thing from the bottom up. So easy. It is a great way to get many shades of pink without using another ink pad. Check out the great images that you get with this stamp set.
Sending Love DSP Stack
I simply love these little paper stacks from Stampin’ UP! You get 48 of the 6×6 inch sheets in an array of beautiful patterns. This stack is so fun with the Real Red and Whisper White color scheme. As always, the paper is doubled sided so there are many classic Valentine patterns as well as more standard general patterns like polka dots.
Just a reminder to visit my store. Sale-A-Bration is in full swing! For every $50 you spend, you get to pick a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! There are so many great items this year from DSP, stamp sets, specialty ribbon and even a card tin. Head to my store and check it out now. Click on any item in the Supply List to go there.
THANKS for visiting my blog today and leave me a comment if you liked today’s project.
Gosh, it has been a long while since I have posted to my blog. This sweet little Valentine note card set is a preview of one of the beautiful suites of products offered by Stampin’ UP in the Occasions Catalog. I had the opportunity to attend the Stampin’ UP! Onstage event in Secaucus, New Jersey in October with my friend and upline, Heather. If you would like to be able to get in on the fun, click the “Join My Team” header on my menu. Being a demonstrator has a lot of perks and the best one if getting to see all the new goodies before they are available to everyone. If you attend OnStage, you also get to preorder from a select group of products before the entire catalog is available.
We had a fun time meeting up with other demonstrators, swapping cards for ideas and best of all, crafting with some of the new treasures in the Occasions catalog.
Here is a picture of my swap card that I exchanged with other demonstrators.
The new Occasions catalog will launch on January 4, 2017. If you would like a copy of one, make a purchase in my online store and I will mail you one.
This adorable baby card uses a combination of products from Stampin’ UP’s annual catalog and gives you a sneak peak of the new Pretty Paisleys Embossing folder that is available for purchase from the holiday catalog on September 1st.
It also features the Something for Baby stamp set and matching framelits as well as the Banners & Badges stamp set greeting – Welcome Baby. It is a quick card to make and just by varying the color from Flirty Flamingo ink to Peekaboo Peach, you get a card for a girl or boy.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. I would love to have you as a customer. Visit my online shop by clicking any image below in the Supply List. Leave me a comment and share my post!
Freshly Made Sketches #247 featured a nice layout that I decided to use for this cute wedding card.
The Floral Boutique DSP pack has a nice neutral palette of Night of Navy and Whisper White. This classic paper pack is great for special occasion cards and scrapbook layouts. Pair it with the Floral Phrases stamp set and you have a perfect combo of complementary products for all your craft projects. Highlight the floral stamped image with the wink of stella pen for a little glitz.
The inside of the card is kept very simple by just using a scrap of the leftover DSP and a sentiment from the Floral Phrases stamp set. I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please consider using me as your demonstrator. I would love to have you as a customer! Click on any product in the supply list to go straight to my online store.
