The season of Spring is about here even though it doesn't feel like it outside. SUO Challenges #196 is all about Spring and it's wonderful events. Go visit their blog for some great ideas for Spring themed cards. I designed this card so that it would fit into a standard business sized envelope for mailing. It features the Sweet Sugarplum 2016-2018 in-color, lots of gold accents, and a Very Vanilla Background.

What could be more elegant than a silver embossed wedding card made with the Petal Palette stamp set from Stampin' UP? How about a wedding card enhanced with the softness of watercoloring those beautiful roses?
Stampin' Up does a fantastic job with coordination of products in the company's catalogs. The holiday occasions catalog features the awesome Year of Cheer Suite. These products work great for Christmas projects as well as wedding projects. The coordinating stamp set includes sentiments for Christmas, New Years, and wedding cards and tags.
I used two on the above card for the banners behind the sentiment. I also added a touch of the gold foil outlined with the stitched framelits. This card was CASEd from the annual catalog's sample. I love the mini chevron ribbon in this suite. It is so soft and easy to work with. I added a touch of it tied off with white twine. The Glitter Enamel dots add a touch of sparkle.
Emboss Resist is a technique that creates a lot of impact for very little effort. On a small piece of whisper white card stock, you simply stamp the Brushstrokes image in Versamark ink, sprinkle with clear or white embossing powder, and then melt it with a heat gun. Using sponge wedges, sponge each of the five colors right over the top of the embossing. Wipe the remaining ink off the embossed stripes with a paper towel. So much fun while being a quick technique. Try it out!
Today's project owes it's life to MOJO Monday Challenge 479 and Color Throwdown's Swatch 425. Check out these great sources of inspiration. I had fun with the color palette: Basic Black, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, and Crushed Curry.
