“We forget that what matters begins with the imagination.” – Terry Brooks
How you all doing?
I hope everyone is coping well with being cooped up in the house with the COVID-19 thing. I have been cooking a whole lot. Unfortunately, that has left my hubby has been doing a lot of dishes. LOL. It’s Ok, he says it’s worth it.
I even ventured into making homemade noodles like my grandmother did years ago. Homemade fettuccini! Yum!

Anyway, I have a fun technique to share today. It’s called Ink Smooshing and I hope that you will try it out.

Watch how to create this fun water color background using an embossed resist technique with a window sheet: INK SMOOSHING! It is a fun and easy way to create a beautiful card background.

Birthday Sentiments
The sentiments for this card are from the July 2016 Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set called What a Gem. It is a retired set but they were the perfect complement to the Leave a Little Sparkle Stamp Set as there were no birthday sentiments in that set. But, you can substitute another stamp set with a different Happy Birthday sentiment.

If you haven’t subscribed to paper pumpkin yet, you should! You get a stamp set in every paper pumpkin box as well as an ink spot and both are reusable.

To finish off the card, I trimmed down the watercolor paper and added a mat of sparkle glimmer paper on a card base made of Rococo Rose card stock. Make sure to use the multipurpose glue to adhere the watercolor paper to the glimmer paper. The two textured surfaces of those papers will not stay together with just snail adhesive.
The sentiment on the outside and inside of the card were stamped with Gray Granite ink. I then added a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment available in the annual catalog.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. If you liked my project, let me know by leaving a comment and sharing my post. If you live in the USA and currently do not have a demonstrator, I would love to earn your business.

Great technique!
It’s fun. You should try it out.
If I can remember it long enough for my stamping get-togethers!
