Guess what, mercury glass, which is also known as silvered glass, contains neither mercury, nor silver. It is actually a double-walled glass with a silvering formula inside. After its invention in the 19th century, it grew in popularity as a budget-friendly alternative to silver.

I just made faux mercury glass ornaments and hadn’t thought to try a similar technique with cardmaking. Pinned.
