Whiteface Lodge
Two years ago, my daughter and son-in-law got married at the breathtakingly beautiful Whiteface Lodge in New York. This awesome view of the lake there is my inspiration for today’s card.
It’s amazing how much has changed in a couple of years for her and her husband. They welcomed a baby girl in March and are buying their first home together. It’s a good life!
Waterfront Stamp Set & Painted Glass Stamp Set
This card is actually really quick to make but it involves a lot of ink pads! Four of the colors are returning colors to the Stampin’ Up palette: Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron, Blackberry Bliss, and Flirty Flamingo. So, if you have these in your stash, now is the time to pull them out. If you don’t have them, check out the great offer from Stampin’ Up at the bottom of this post to show you how to add to your ink pad collection.
See the Stampin’ Up Color Revamp here.
Making the Card
The mountains in the distance were stamped off once on a separate sheet of paper to lighten the color saturation. I did the same for the Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo clouds as well as the Mossy Meadow trees closer to the mountains.
Yes, I am back to the Painted Glass stamp set as well! Lol. I used the “A Reason to Celebrate” sentiment from that set. Don’t you just love that Gothic font stamped in Blueberry Bushel? Just frame that landscape on a mat of Soft Suede card stock and you have a miniature masterpiece. Truly, this stamp set makes everyone feel like an artist.
I was ecstatic to see that the Waterfront Stamp Set carried over to the annual catalog. Actually, four of my top ten Occasion Catalog items did! You can see them at Top Ten Favorites from Stampin’ UP’s Occasions Catalog.
