Step It Up

Step It Up is a regular feature in Stampin’ UP’s Stampin’ Success magazine.  Stampin’ Success is one of the benefits that you get when you become a Stampin’ UP demonstrator. The Step It Up article demonstrated a basic card for a new crafter getting jazzed up for a more casual crafter and then finally, for an avid crafter.  It is a great visual guide for a demonstrator trying to set up a class based on the needs of that particular type of class.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite regular articles in the magazine.  When I was at the last OnStage, I received the Lovely Wishes Stamp Set from one of the prize patrols.  It has sat on my shelf since that event because I really did not know what to do with it!

Sometimes, I just don’t have an idea and that is where the article really filled the void. It  helps to have nice samples available to us as demonstrators through OnStage events and swaps, our catalogs and of course Pinterest.

The original card in the magazine was done in a Calypso Coral color palette.  I switched that out for Dapper Denim.  I colored my tulips with the Stampin’ Blends. Don’t you think this would make a lovely Mother’s Day card?

I added ribbon from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit as well as one of those sweet little tassels.  Aren’t these embellishments just beautiful?

This package of embellishments is loaded with lots of fun things.  Numbers for the cake popouts, white clothes pins, tassels, washi tape, scalloped ribbon and even vellum flowers are what is included in the package.  It really is a great value for your money because sold separately, the cost would be a lot more. Plus, you get a great sampling of Stampin’ UP products in one package.

I also added the Myths and Magic Washi Tape to the card base instead of the second layer.  The striped glittery tape really worked great with this card.Myths & Magic Washi Tape by Stampin UP
