Emboss Resist Technique

Emboss Resist is a technique that creates a lot of impact for very little effort.   On a small piece of whisper white card stock, you simply stamp the Brushstrokes image in Versamark ink, sprinkle with clear or white embossing powder, and then melt it with a heat gun.

Using sponge wedges, sponge each of the five colors right over the top of the embossing.  Wipe the remaining ink off the embossed stripes with a paper towel.  So much fun while being a quick technique. Try it out!

Using the little label from the Label Me Pretty stamp set, stamp the curly cue in Fresh Fig ink and the sentiment “You’re the Best” in Tranquil tide.  Just punch it out with the coordinating punch.  I love that Stampin’ UP makes this so easy.  Top it off with a In Color Bitty Bow. I chose the Lemon Lime Twist one. Done!

  1. How cool does the emboss resist look with our challenge colors! A really dramatic look with an easy to do technique. Great CAS layout and that little bow is too sweet! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
