Mom’s Special Day
Mother’s Day is one of those holidays that has become so commercialized people have really forgotten what is about. One of the best ways to show mom that you really care is to take the time to do something special with her. Flowers are always nice but moms really appreciate the time you spend with them. Make a memory. Give it a try and make her a handmade card! You don’t have to be an artist. Let’s just take the time to make her feel special.
I was really touched to find that my mother-in-law has held onto all the handmade cards I’ve made her over the years in a box. She had ones that I even forgot I made. She is truly a special lady.
Colors
The colors for this card were pulled directly from the Succulent Garden designer series paper. The paper is always a good starting point when designing a new card. The colors always look amazing together. This paper is on sale. It was $11.00 NOW $6.60.
Everyday Tags Stamp Set
I am sad that this stamp set is retiring. It has some really great sentiments besides being used with the framelits. The good news though is that they are on sale. The clear mount set was $19.00 and is NOW $14.25.
Making the Card
To make the sentiment the two colors, color the sentiment with the calypso coral marker. The outside border is colored with the old olive marker. Simply huff over the colored stamp a couple times to re-moisten the stamp, and stamp as usual. Cut out the entire image with the 2 inch circle punch. Then sponge with the sweet sugarplum ink around the edges. Cut out a piece of the succulent paper with a 2 1/2 inch punch. Layer the two pieces with dimensionals. I went back and added some sparkle with the wink of stella clear pen on the border.
Make sure you check out all the retiring products used on this card. There are some real bargains. The embellishment pack is also on sale. It was $12.00 and is NOW $8.40.
