The ColourQ and Retrosketches blog sites inspired today’s card with their challenges. The only substitution that I made was swapping out the Crushed Curry for the Hello Honey as well as Real Red for the Ruby Red colors in the pallette. I wanted to use currently available Stampin’ UP ink colors.

Here is my card for both challenges. It is a 6 inch by 6 inch card made with a base color of Pumpkin Pie and highlighted with a mat of Crushed Curry cardstock. A 2 1/2 inch circle is punched out of soft suede cardstock and run through the big shot with the Sparkle embossing folder. The swirl is cut on the big shot using the copper foil cardstock and the swirly die.
Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set
This fun Halloween stamp set from Stampin’ UP has a coordinating punch for the little guys. I think the scarecrow steals the show. There are so many fun ways to color him. For this project, I used blender pens.
Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set
To keep the lines relatively straight, I used a pencil to mark off a triangle in the corner of the card front. To get the stripes on the front of the card, I randomly stamped them with the narrow stripes stamp from this set. I used all the colors in the palette and kept layering the color until I had the look I wanted.
Halloween Treat Stamp
The Halloween Treat Stamp from this season’s holiday catalog has 2 great sentiments on the stamp. To isolate the sentiment you want, simply color the words with the desired color marker. (I used basic black) Before stamping it on the paper, huff on it a couple of times to wet the ink. It is that simple.
