Case The Designer
The Global Design Project always has some fun ideas to try out. This card by Teneale Williams gave me the inspiration for the layout of this card although I tried it out with some deeper shades of blue and green. This year’s In colors are some of my new favorites. Here is the link to the Global Design Project Challenge:
Merriest Wishes Bundle
When I saw this bundle in the Holiday Catalog, it went on my wishlist as a top priority. I love the framelits that match the stamp set because I love to make my own gift tags for Christmas every year. It also makes lovely Christmas cards as well.
I paired it with the Pine Bough Embossing Folder to add a little more texture to the card base. The stamped snowflakes add a little pizzazz and a punch of color.
Directions
First you want to start with a Emerald Envy card base of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Run the card base through the Big Shot using the Pine Bough Embossing Folder so that the pine image will be on the left side of the card.
Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to 3″ x 4 1/4″. Stamp the snow image on the right side of the card stock, once at the top and once at the bottom in Dapper Denim ink.
Cut out the deer tag using the Merry Tags framelit die on the Big Shot, once from the Emerald Envy card stock, once from the Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper and once from the Chocolate Chip card stock. Punch out a 2 inch circle with the circle punch.
Using the Emerald Envy tag as the base, remove the green deer with your paper snips. Snip off the tab at the top of the tag.
From the Dazzling Diamonds tag, remove the deer, trees and snow. On the Chocolate Chip tag, remove the deer.
Glue the Dazzling Diamond trees behind the Emerald Envy trees. Glue the Dazzling Diamond snow to the front of the Emerald Envy tag. Glue the entire Emerald Envy tag to the Dapper Denim circle centering it in the middle. Glue the Chocolate Chip deer to his proper place.
Wrap a piece of the ribbon around the left edge of the snow stamped on the white card stock. Fasten the deer tag in the middle with dimensionals. Add a ribbon bow to the top of the deer tag. Attach it to the front of the card with dimensionals.
Stamp the Merriest Wishes sentiment in Dapper Denim ink on whisper white card stock. Punch it out with the Duet Banner punch. Punch an additional banner out of Emerald Envy card stock and glue to the back of the banner. Please note that when you punch out your sentiment, it will be upside down. It follows the curve of the tag that way. Attach the banner to the card front with dimensionals.
I added a scrap of Dapper denim paper to the inside of the card as well as a stamped sentiment from the Merriest Wishes stamp set.
