Inspiration

Inspiration comes from many different places.  Pinterest, Facebook, Card Challenges and the Stampin’ UP catalog are places that I turn to the most when trying to come up with an idea for a new card.  Today’s challenge from SUO Challenges gave me a fun color palette to work with as well as this cute stamp set called Pretty Kitty from the annual catalog.  The adorable kitten images lend themselves to coloring which is one of my favorite things to do.

Here is the link to SU-only challenges blog.

I got Top 3 for the challenge on the SU-only challenges blog. See it here!

Directions

Start with a base card cut to 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″. Stamp the kitten image in Stazon black on whisper white card stock.  Color the image in using real red, pacific point, garden green and delightful dijon markers. Highlight the kitty with the clear wink of stella brush. Cut around the image using paper snips.

Cut another piece of whisper white to 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″. Run it through the big shot using the Floral Affection embossing folder.

Cut a piece of the Serene Scenery DSP to 5 1/4″ x 3″.  Stamp the sentiment on the bottom of the paper in black Stazon ink.  Attach to the card front using snail adhesive.

Run a piece of real red card stock with the Swirly Scribbles die on top through the big shot.

Attach the Floral Affection embossed image to the card front using snail adhesive.  Attach the Swirly Scribble to the card front using the liquid adhesive.  Attach the kitty on top with stampin’ dimensionals.

  1. I never would have thought to cut out the kitty image and then add to the swirl diecut! So fun! Thanks for playing along with the SUO challenge this week!
