Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Time goes by so quickly. It was just Christmas! Time to think about those special people in our lives. I designed a couple of cards for just that.
I fell in love with the new Blooming’ Love Bundle at the Baltimore OnStage event. I couldn’t wait for the Stampin’ UP! box of goodies to arrive so I could try it out with the matching patterned paper.
This die was made to go with the Precision Base Plate. It helps put enough pressure on the die to cut all the intricate pieces. Pair it with the Big Shot die brush and you will save a lot of time poking out all those little pieces. What a great little tool!
Here is Stampin’ UP!’s video showing how to cut out the heart.
To get started on the card, cut your card base out of Rose Red card stock measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score it at 5 1/2″. Cut a piece of Blushing Bride card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Cut a piece of vellum from the Botanical Gardens vellum stack measuring 3″ x 4″. Please note that this vellum stack is a Sale-A-Bration item. You receive it free when you purchase $50 worth of products.
Check this video out to see how special this vellum stack is!
Using the Bloomin’ Heart die, run it through the big shot with a piece of paper from the Love Blossoms DSP stack. The precision plate should be on the bottom of the Big Shot sandwich. I usually run it back and forth about 3 times on my Big Shot but the pressure may vary so experiment on your machine to see what works.
Using the Big Shot die brush, run the brush over the die on the foam pad to release the paper from the die. Stamp the banner image in Rose Red ink on the Blushing Bride card stock and then stamp a sentiment in the middle of the banner. Cut out the banner using the matching framelit.
Stamp the small floral heart using the Blushing Bride ink randomly on the Blushing Bride card stock and adhere to the front of the card. Adhere the vellum piece to the Blushing Bride layer in the middle of the card using the fine tip glue pen. Put a small amount in each corner. Stamp another small floral heart on the Whisper White card stock and adhere to the inside of the card using snail adhesive.
Attach the large heart to the front of the card using dimensionals. Center the banner image inside the heart and adhere using dimensionals. Finish the card by attaching 3 pearls or rhinestones to the lower right edge of the card.
